AnMed Health Women's and Children's Hospital provides a healing environment for kids and their families. Care for and about children starts here. Everything in our pediatric unit - from the color of the hallways to the couches in patient rooms - is designed with children in mind. Each room has a sleeping surface for a mom or dad, and rocking chairs are available for parents with infants. Internet access also is provided in patient rooms for patients who want to bring a laptop from home. A playroom with games, books and video games is located on the pediatric unit for patients who are not in isolation. For our older patients, we have an adolescent room equipped with a television computer and lounge chairs. Video games and DVDs also can be delivered to patient rooms. Family and friends outside the hospital may call directly to patient rooms by dialing 512 plus the four-digit room number. Incoming telephone calls to patient rooms are not allowed after 10 p.m. Telephones for the hearing impaired are available upon request. For the safety and protection of our patients, we ask that visitors wash their hands when entering a patient's room and after handling other children. Parents should check with the nurse before giving any food, drink, candy or gum to a patient. Also, please note that AnMed Health only allows Mylar balloons inside the hospital.
