How To Apply

To be accepted into the Radiologic Technology Program, prospective students must comply with the admissions policy. The application deadline is February 28, 2015.

Once your application has been received, you’ll be required to attend a two-hour information session at AnMed Health Medical Center. Prospective students then participate in an interview with the program director and clinical coordinator, and a morning of observation in the radiology department. Before the clinical observation, prospective students must sign a confidentiality statement and provide documentation of having received a flu vaccination and TB test within the past six months.

At the end of the observation period, you’ll be asked to complete a math assessment and writing sample. We’ll also mail forms to your personal references, which should be returned before the selection process begins. Each applicant also receives a copy of the student handbook and must sign an acknowledgment agreeing to abide by all program rules.

An Admissions Committee selects the students after all admission requirements have been met. Each applicant’s academic and personal attributes are evaluated using a point system. Students are accepted on the basis of academic records, character and a general aptitude for the field of Radiologic Technology. Completed application date is also considered.

Candidates are notified of the committee's decision by mail no later than May 1. Selection is made without regard to race, religion, age, gender or national origin.

Students must complete a health screening at AnMed Health Employee Health before they are accepted into the program. A drug screening is included as a part of this health screening. A criminal background check is also required. Any applicant who fails or refuses to complete the required screenings will not be considered for acceptance.

The technical standards for admission and job duties associated with this profession require students be able to perform a full range of body motions including lifting and moving patients, manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination for maneuvering radiographic equipment, as well as prolonged sitting/standing. Technical standards are evaluated during the health screening and clinical observation process.

Our program’s class size is limited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology. AnMed Health does not accept transfer students, and advanced placement is not an option due to curriculum sequence and design.
