Programs Supported

Imagine having to choose between putting dinner on the table for your family and taking a sick child to the doctor because you cannot afford to do both. Many families face these kinds of tough choices day in and day out.

Your donation to the AnMed Health Foundation supports programs and funds designed to make healthcare services accessible to everyone in our community, regardless of their circumstances, and to continuously enhance the level of care at AnMed Health.

Medical Programs & Services:

  • Camp Asthmania is a special AnMed Health Children’s Care event that brings together children with asthma for a day of fun activities and asthma education.
  • AnMed Health Pediatric Therapy Works serves more than 600 children with developmental delays and disorders providing therapy, assistive equipment and customized programs to help them reach their full potential and live as independently as possible.
  • Doclink is a school-based program started by a group of AnMed Health physicians to focus on substance abuse, trauma prevention and other health initiatives for Anderson County youth.
  • Safe Kids Anderson County, an injury prevention effort led by AnMed Health, was launched in 1999 to create awareness and educate parents and caregivers on how to prevent the injuries that maim and kill more local children than any other cause. Unintentional injury is the leading health risk facing Anderson County children. Safe Kids educates families, provides safety devices to families in need and advocates for better laws to help keep children safe, healthy and out of the emergency room.
  • The Mobile Diagnostic Unit will take mammography and other diagnostic tools to community centers and neighborhoods beyond the AnMed Health campuses. A capital campaign is underway now to raise $1.2 million to purchase and equip a unit to reach these underserved communities.
  • AnMed Health Medical Education Campus Building Fund

Financial Assistance Funds:

  • Cancer Care Assistance Fund supports programs that ensure all patients receive the medical care they need for the prevention and treatment of cancer, including mammograms and treatments at the AnMed Health Infusion Center.
  • Robert B. Claytor Patient Assistance Fund purchases prescriptions or medical supplies for low-income patients discharged from AnMed Health who cannot afford to pay for these items essential for their healing and recovery.
  • Employee Financial Assistance Fund will directly support the needs of AnMed Health employees facing particularly hard times due to an emergency or crisis affecting the employee or a member of his/her immediate family.
  • AnMed Health Freedom Link (formerly Lifeline) pays the monthly service fee for the Freedom Link System – a personal emergency response service – for elderly and disabled persons, allowing them to maintain their quality of life and independent living in their own homes.
  • Peggy G. Deane Nursing Professional Development Fund provides financial support for qualifying AnMed Health employees to advance their education and training in the field of nursing, nursing education and nursing administration.

These programs and assistance funds are making a real difference in the lives of real people in our community. Meet a few of the residents who’ve benefited from these services made possible through donations to the AnMed Health Foundation.
