Support Groups

AnMed Health provides a number of free support groups for patients, families, caregivers and friends. These meetings are a great time to discuss concerns, ask questions and share your feelings. Groups are led by health care professionals and may include a patient and family counselor, chaplain, an oncology nurse or a social worker.

Cancer Care 101

Who it’s for: New patients get orientation to the treatments they may be receiving, such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
Time: Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon or Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Grief Support Group
Who it’s for: Anyone who has lost a loved one.

Man to Man Prostate Support Group

Who it’s for: This group is for men with prostate cancer. Supportive spouses are welcome.

One in Eight Breast Cancer Support Group

Who it’s for: Breast cancer will affect one in eight American women. This group gives breast cancer survivors a place to find emotional support, understanding and friendship.
Time: Meets the second Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m.

Surviving the Journey

Who it’s for: This group is for survivors of all types of cancer. Families and caregivers are also welcome.
Time: Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

The Sexy Broads

Who it’s for: This is a support group for women with cancers below the waist. If you’ve had reproductive, gastrointestinal, urologic or other below-the-waist cancers, join this fun, caring group of women.
